OH MY GOD GUYS SO WHEN SINGAPORE AIRLINES SLID INTO MY EMAILS AND WAS LIKE HEY GURL WE LIKE YOU, GET IN, WE GOING SHOPPING, I PASSED OUT THEN ROSE INTO A BUSINESS CLASS PHOENIX.
But seriously, as a travel blogger there ain’t nothing higher of a milestone than teaming up with an airline, let alone THE WORLD’S NUMBER 1 AIRLINE !!! and no I will not stop typing in caps because this post really calls for it. (:
So at first I was like ‘don’t get too excited just yet Steph like what if it doesn’t happen,’ BUT IT HAPPENED and after seeing that glorious business class ticket PDF I was just SO READY to GLOW UP. So ready in fact I even bought a whole new outfit for the occasion cause I’ve never tried business class before and seriously when will this happen again?
To continue that EXTRA EXTRA vibe I popped to ye trusty ol Kmart to purchase a lifetime’s amount of fairy lights because I had dreamed up a super special idea in mind for a photo after also realising this flight would be taking off in darkness and arriving in darkness. Then, I was on my way because Singapore Airlines IS WHERE THE POURDEE AT.
Now ya’ll know I’m all about finding them cheap flights and sharing it with you all, but all I could think of when my lil pancake butt sat on the bougee, spacious business class seat (that was big enough for two people).. was that I AM SERIOUSLY RUINED NOW. I AM RUIIIINED FOR ECONOMY. Economy isn’t even in my dictionary no more. Who dat?
The incredible, attentive flight attendants immediately addressed us all by our names, asked if we’d like champagne or juice (don’t miiiind if I do!) and confirmed our ‘book the cook’ meals for the flight.
So after getting some cute video clips in for the vlog Hannah my travel partner decided to do the normal thing which was sleep like everyone else on board but I decided to stay up FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE because I just coulllldn’t believe this was happening, as well as also take my sweet time to bring this idea in my head to life.
And voila! You liiiike? I spent about an hour curating this. I brought 3 packs of fairy lights, 1 pack of star string lights and sellotape. After sorting it all out and re-sticking it in better places, I asked a kind flight attendant to help me take this incredible snap. Granted, she took about 100 for me (thank youuuu) and I could not have been happier. I was high off life! My pyjama shirt (new, too!) said ‘ALL THE FEELS’ and that was the exact feel I was feeling as this was an incredible moment where I really knew I was living my dream.
I had the best sleep on the incredible lie-flat mattress where I woke up feeling like a million dollars! Seriously, I really understand why people do this for work now. You really do wake up feeling so refreshed and ready to hit the town! Or the meeting!
Through my ‘book the cook’ options which allows you to prebook what you want to eat, I had chosen to have a big NZ style brekkie, and it came complete with juice and champagne. This meal was so delicious – the omelette was soft, the bacon crispy, even the potatoes were lightly salted to perfection. All in all I was a happy wee traveler and enjoyed all their amenities, especially their large flat screen TV, hot towels and free wi-fi!
Business class has always been a big dream of mine and I am so grateful to have been able to experience it with the best and tick if off my bucket list. If you’ve been thinking of trying out business class, I suggest it! Treat yo-self! I simply can’t rave about Singapore Airlines enough. Everything was perfect and it truly was the best way to Visit Singapore.
